Favorites: Reluctant Medium

As a native New Mexican, I appreciated the setting of this book. Even more than enjoying a novel based in my home state, I appreciated the accuracy of this book. There are many aspects of New Mexico culture that people find interesting, but the details of the people and practices are not always researched well enough to be represented accurately.

Collins' research and familiarity with the area showed though in her story. The details of the town and people, as well as the cultural aspects of the story, were portrayed very accurately. She gives a realistic setting for her story and provides the stories and mysteries that round out a well crafted novel.
